As Jews, we know more than most the vulnerability of statelessness, and how valuable our allies have been in our times of need. Given that all Jewish Americans have a story of arriving in this country as immigrants or refugees, we are proud to partner with the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), the Africa Middle Eastern Leadership Project (AMEL) and La Unidad Latina Foundation for National Refugee Shabbat.
National Refugee Shabbat is a moment for congregations, organizations, and individuals across the country to celebrate the contributions of refugees, raise awareness in our communities, and reaffirm our commitment to fighting for the rights of refugees and asylum seekers everywhere.
