The 2025 Freedom Seder LA, hosted by Zioness Movement and a coalition of prominent Black, Jewish, and Black-Jewish leaders, brought over 200 changemakers together for an evening of shared ritual, relationship-building, and liberation-focused dialogue. Rooted in the traditions of Passover and the story of Exodus, the event created space for emotional and strategic connection at a time when both communities are facing heightened vulnerability. With symbolic rituals, music, storytelling, and conversation, the seder reimagined ancient practices through a contemporary lens, emphasizing solidarity, healing, and collective action. Hosted by figures such as Van Jones, Bishop-Designate Michael Fisher, Rabbi Yoshi Zweiback, and Zioness founder Amanda Berman, the evening celebrated the shared histories and intertwined struggles for justice, safety, and freedom—reminding all present that building bridges between communities is essential for preserving democracy and advancing liberation.
