Reproductive freedom is a Jewish value. Dismantling barriers like lack of access to universal, equitable contraceptives in a post-Roe world is imperative. This week, we took a step in the right direction. We applaud the announcement that Americans will have access to affordable over-the-counter-contraceptives at select pharmacies—without the need for a prescription. We know that when women have access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare, they are able to invest in their futures creating their own path toward pursuing things like higher education, career goals, and other various life paths. We hope this decision will continue to facilitate a more equitable healthcare system which recognizes the diverse needs and circumstances of all women. We believe in a future where women have the agency to make decisions aligned with their own health needs, free from unnecessary hurdles. As we continue to champion reproductive rights for all birthing people we will do everything in our power to ensure that future is realized.
