Zioness Statement on the Murders of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky

We are gutted over the senseless antisemitic murders of a young couple who staffed Israel’s Embassy to the United States. Our hearts are shattered for their families and for the whole Jewish nation, which will mourn together.

We stand in unbreakable solidarity with our Jewish and non-Jewish friends at the Embassy, at Consulates across the country and world, at the American Jewish Committee, and with all the innocent people who have a compounded and visceral fear of participating in Jewish life in America in 2025.

These murders, allegedly committed by a man yelling “Free Palestine,” are the only logical outcome of a culture that normalizes phrases like “Intifada Revolution,” “From the River to the Sea,” “Globalize the Intifada,” and “By any means necessary.” This language is not about helping Palestinians achieve dignity and security or peaceful coexistence, but about punishing Jews and our allies everywhere for the “crime” of achieving the dream of Jewish liberation and sovereignty in our ancestral homeland.

Every human being of conscience must condemn this unspeakable act of terror, this heinous act of anti-Jewish hate. The health of our society, our country and our world demands absolutely nothing less.

May their memories be for an eternal blessing, and their loved ones be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

הַמָּקוֹם יְנַחֵם אֶתְכֶם בְּתוֹךְ שְׁאָר אֲבֵלֵי צִיּוֹן וִירוּשָׁלַיִם
